Who we are
This website is operated by XFM Electric, an electrical contractor serving Austin and Central Texas (TECL #38285). In this policy, “we” and “us” mean XFM Electric.
Information you give us
When you request a quote through the form on this website, we collect the information you choose to enter:
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and preferred contact method, and a company name if you provide one for a commercial request.
- Project location — the street address, city and ZIP code of the property. We also record whether the ZIP code is within our typical service area.
- Project information — the property type, the service you need, your answers to project questions, any details or message you write, and your preferred timing, day and time.
- Safety information — if you select safety concerns such as a burning smell or sparks, we record them so your request can be reviewed with that in mind. This is not a diagnosis and does not guarantee an emergency response.
- Photos and files — images (JPEG, PNG or WebP) and PDF documents you choose to attach, up to 10 MB each and 30 MB in total, along with each file’s name, type and size. Photos may show your property and anything else in the picture, so please attach only what you are comfortable sharing.
Information collected automatically
- Website analytics — our public pages use Google Analytics, which uses cookies or similar technologies to collect information about how the site is used, such as pages viewed and device, browser and general location information, as described by Google. We also record a small set of quote form events: the service category selected, which step of the form was reached, when a request is started, and whether a submission succeeded or failed. We do not send your name, phone number, email address, street address, ZIP code, messages or files to Google Analytics.
- Security check — the quote form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish people from automated spam. Cloudflare processes information about your browser and device to do this, and when you submit, your IP address is sent to Cloudflare to verify the check.
- Spam and abuse limits — when a request is submitted, our server uses your IP address to limit repeated submissions in a short period. These records are not currently deleted automatically.
- Saved draft on your device — the quote form saves your progress in your browser’s local storage, on your own device, so you can continue later. The draft includes the details you have entered but not attached files. It is not sent to us until you submit, it expires after about 7 days and is cleared once your request is sent successfully, and you can remove it sooner by choosing “Start Over” or clearing your browser’s site data.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to review your request, contact you about it using the method you prefer, prepare a quote, confirm availability and scheduling, take into account any safety concerns you reported, protect the form from spam and abuse, and understand how the website is used.
Services that help run this website
We use the following service providers. Each handles information under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and stores submitted quote requests and uploaded photos and files. Uploaded files are kept in private storage, not at public web addresses.
- Resend — sends two emails when you submit a request. One notifies XFM Electric and includes your contact details, city and ZIP code, the service and project details you entered, any safety concerns you selected, how many photos or files you attached, and a private link to view the full request. The other, if you gave an email address, is a confirmation to you that we received your request, with your reference number and the service you selected. The photos and files themselves are not attached to either email.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — the security check described above.
- Google Analytics — the website analytics described above.
- Google Fonts — the site’s typeface is loaded from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser information as part of that request.
- OpenStreetMap — the service area map on the Contact page loads map images from OpenStreetMap’s servers.
- unpkg — delivers the code library used by the service area map. Like any web server, it receives standard request information such as your IP address and browser type.
Who can see your request
Your request is available to XFM Electric through the email notification and a private link. Photos and files are shown through temporary links that expire.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above.
How long we keep information
We keep your request, files and related emails until they are no longer needed for the work or for our records. They are not deleted automatically; you can ask us to delete them.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
- Photos and files are optional. Attach only what helps describe your project.
- To ask to see, correct or delete your information, email xfmelectric.operations@gmail.com.
Security
We use measures such as restricted database access, private file storage and a spam check on the quote form. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above.
